About Me
I’m passionate about innovation and enjoy blending software with hardware to create unique solutions. My journey began with Smartivity kits, Lego blocks, and mechanics sets—gifts from my mother and grandmother. In 2019, the immersive gameplay of Shadow Fight 2 and Super Mario Galaxy on the Nintendo Wii sparked my interest in programming.

Using emulators like Dolphin and Citra, I deepened my understanding and mapped out a self-learning path. I’ve explored C++, C#, Java, Python, and Unreal Engine for 2D and 3D game development. A key milestone was attending the Rancho Labs summer camp, where hands-on learning inspired me to apply my skills in real-world problem-solving. Building on those experiences, I filed a patent for one of my innovative projects.

I continue to stay curious, constantly learning from new technologies and pushing my boundaries in programming.

I built an obstacle detection and avoidance system for self-driving vehicles using Arduino and ultrasonic sensors. The system detects nearby obstacles, identifies the clearest path, and adjusts movement in real-time for autonomous navigation.

Key Features:

-
Arduino Uno R3 processes sensor inputs and controls motion.
-
Three ultrasonic sensors:
-
Front sensor stops/reverses if an object is within 22 cm.
-
Two side sensors help decide the direction.
-
-
L298N motor driver powers four DC gearmotors for steering.
-
12V power supply supports all components.
-
Switch enables manual system control.
-
Real-time detection and pathfinding for smooth movement.

Upskilled at Rancho Labs in Summer 2024, which inspired me to develop and patent an Ultrasonic Obstacle Detection and Avoidance System, thanks to their guidance in nurturing project-based thinking.

Projects Worked On
-
ROBO Q Explorer Summer Camp: In June 2019, during grade 5, I attended a Robotics summer program at GD Goenka School. Over 3 weeks, I learned about microprocessors like Raspberry Pi and sensors such as motion and infrared. I built my first robot, a Bluetooth-controlled racing car, which sparked my interest in both hardware and software. Coding a Raspberry Pi in Python for the first time was an unforgettable experience that opened up the world of programming to me.

-
Traffic Light System at Rancho Labs: - During the summer of 2022, I learnt about Arduino Uno, object-oriented programming and its programming language-Embedded C++ at Robotics club in Father Agnel School, Noida. Rancho Labs then taught me about Robotics, Microcontrollers, CAD, TinkerCad, RGBs, LEDs, Jumper Wires, Arduino IDE to name a few. With their experienced teachers, I built a few projects over the course of the summer camp such as Traffic Light System.
-
Super Knight Bros (2D game): A basic 2D platformer game developed during study breaks while preparing for grade 10 board exams. This project allowed me to test my knowledge of C# and the Unity engine.

Up skill at Rancho Labs in 2024 and the idea behind ‘Patent’: This summer had a new buzz word – ‘Patent’. Heartfelt appreciation to Rancho Labs for helping me develop my thought process to work on customized projects and secure a patent in India for the Ultrasonic Obstacle Detection and Avoidance System. Inspired by the IIT Delhi Alumni - co-founder of Rancho Labs Mr Anshul Agarwal, M. Tech IIT Delhi- my Grandfather Mr.V K Gupta, and Director Amity Centre for Artificial Intelligence Prof. M K Dutta, I have always been ambitious about unique success above all.
The Invention
As previously mentioned, I developed a system capable of detecting and avoiding obstacles autonomously, without human intervention, called The Ultrasonic Obstacle Detection and Avoidance System. This system is comparable to modern self-driving cars but with a key distinction: while traditional self-driving vehicles employ a variety of sensors, such as LiDAR, cameras, and computer vision, my invention utilizes solely ultrasonic sensors.
Traditional models often rely on sophisticated systems to manipulate the light from LiDAR for accurate 3D mapping of their surroundings, thereby increasing cost and complexity. In contrast, my system employs only three ultrasonic sensors, arranged in a trigonal configuration with one sensor at the front and two on either side. This simplicity significantly reduces both the complexity of the code and the overall production costs.
The algorithm in my invention uses data from the ultrasonic sensors to calculate the distance ahead of each sensor. When the distance in front of the primary sensor drops below a predefined safe threshold (22 cm for the prototype), the system halts and evaluates the distances to the left and right. It then turns in the direction offering more space and proceeds forward. If all three directions are blocked, the system moves backward incrementally until an opening is detected in either the left or right side. This streamlined approach reduces development time and production costs, resulting in a lower final price for consumers and retailers.
